Hispanic Ministry
Pablo Cachon leads our ministry to and through Hispanics. Pablo is a second generation Hispanic, growing up in Mid-City Los Angeles. He has found himself being a connection between the first and second generation Hispanics, having gained wisdom, knowledge and practical life skills during his formative years.
Growing up in Los Angeles among diverse cultures, traditions and religious beliefs, Pablo has found himself faced with the challenge of engaging his community. After High School, Pablo attended a three year study in Biblical Theology. During this period of his life, he met his beautiful wife Xochitl. In 1996, they moved to the Coachella Valley where they have continued raising their three sons, whom Pablo considers the joy and delight of his life. Pablo says, "Little did I realize that my experiences in the Los Angeles area would come to form a pivitol part of my ministerial experience here in the desert."
Having served as the Pastor of Hispanic Ministries at Southwest Community Church, in July 2008, Pablo was released and blessed by Southwest Community Church to commence a new chapter in ministry in the Eastern Coachella Valley. This was the beginning of "Nueva Vida," (New Life), a new collection of Christ followers.
Nueva Vida was officially born on April 12, 2009 with over 250 people attending our launch service. "PTL! (Praise the Lord)", Pablo says, "I call this, 'Life Change!' Something beautiful is occurring here in the Coachella Valley and I am witnessing how God is moving through the testimonies of life change that we are seeing. Today our weekend services are now reaching over 150 people per Sunday."
At Nueva Vida everyone is encouraged to: Celebrate Christ-Connect with people-Contribute to our world
Pablo is serving with over 100 pastors in the Coachella Valley in networking, outreach, and providing venues to unify the body of Christ and to reach out to the Coachella Valley with the Gospel. Pablo also conducts leadership workshops with EFCA West to Non-Hispanic/Hispanic pastors, networks with the National Hispanic Leadership Team of the EFCA and leads Hispanic Ministries for EFCA West. He is involved in mentoring ministry leaders, strategic planning, vision casting, developing systems for churches, and the best title of all, for Pablo, is "being husband to my wife and a loving father to my family."
