Linda Bishop:  Ministry to Women in Leadership

Linda Bishop brings more than 20 years of insights gleaned from teaching, leading and mentoring women of all ages to her role in ministry to women in leadership.  She brings real-world practices and principles to women in leadership as well as encouragement, guidance and support to women who are married to leaders.    Linda and her husband Ron have been married for 33 years and live in Yorba Linda, CA.  They have three adult children and a daughter-in-law that they really like to hang out with,  Brian (married to Rachel), Lauren and Aaron.

Steve Hopper: Ministry to and through Men

Steve Hopper is Associate Pastor of Adult Ministries at Porterville EFC. A graduate of Dallas Seminary and Instructor for Walk Thru the Bible Ministries, Steve is also a regular and popular instructor at “Iron Sharpens Iron” conferences around the country. His desire is to help every adult, especially men, “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Peter 3:18). Steve and his wife, Sharon, came to Porterville in 2005 from First EFC of Austin, Texas. They have three grown children and two grandchildren.

Julie Kurz: Ministry to and through Families

Julie Kurz was the Children’s Director at Bethany Evangelical Free Church in Littleton, Colorado for 17 years.   After becoming aware of research indicating a huge loss of ‘church-grown’ kids leaving their faith and the church, Julie resigned her position to follow God’s calling on her life to influence the culture of the church and the home to better reflect the Biblical model for passing faith to the next generation; where the home become the primary source of spiritual development for children, and the church comes alongside in a supportive role with training, equipping, and resources.  To read her bio in full, click here.

Shawn Brennan: Ministry to those who serve youth

Shawn Brennan has served as the Pastor of Sr. High Student ministries at Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Redlands California for the past eight years and has worked in youth Ministry for the past fifteen years. Shawn graduated from Cedarville University in Ohio and has a THM from Dallas Theological Seminary in Pastoral Leadership. Shawn loves spending time with his wife Ally, outdoor adventures, Ohio State Football, and keeping boys away from his three little girls. Through his role with EFCA west, Shawn strives to be a catalyst for leaders that have a heart for students and disciplemaking.

John Erwin: Placement and Transitions

John Erwin is the Senior Pastor at Moorpark Evangelical Free Church (March 2008 to present). Before accepting the call at Moorpark, he was the Pastor of Congregational Life and Families at Yorba Linda Friends Church (2002-2008) and was in a similar position at Grace Church in Eden Prairie, MN (1988-2002). He is also the founder of “Searches for Churches” a pastoral placement service involving coaching and consulting that helps churches find the right individuals for their respective ministries.  For a more complete bio on John, click here.
